The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the 6th Provincial Business Conference of Dinagat Islands on September 13 to 14, 2022 at the Macaldo Function Hall in Brgy. Justiniana Edera, Municipality of San Jose, Province of Dinagat Islands. With the theme One Dinagat, One MSMEs: Inspire. Integrate. Innovate., the event aimed to ensure proper development of businesses in the province. The two-day event was a collaborative undertaking of the Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Dinagat Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. In an effort to improve its services to the public, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the Trainings on Cybersecurity Competency Framework and Data Privacy Protection on August 8 to 12, 2022 via Google Meet and Zoom Platforms. Aimed at harnessing the competitiveness of the government workforce towards an ICT-enabled society, the said trainings were conducted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology through its ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau. This endeavor reaffirms the MGB Regional Office No. XIII’s commitment to integrate information technology to its frontline services and other key processes. While information systems are vital tools for moving forward, the Bureau is also mindful of cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities involved. The Cybersecurity Competency Framework will prepare the Bureau not only for efficient response to threats but also in securing its Information Technology assets.
