MGB ROXIII Conducts Tree-Planting with SMMCI and TMC

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with Silangan Mindanao Mining Company, Inc. and Taganito Mining Corporation, conducted a tree-planting activity on September 30, 2015 at the Provincial Tree Park in Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City in keeping with the government’s National Greening Program. MGB ROXIII, SMMCI and TMC employees planted approximately 400 assorted forest and fruit tree seedlings. Inspired by their commitment to environmental protection, the employees also tended the tree seedlings that were planted during the Environment Month Culminating Activities last June 30, 2015. They believe that green initiatives and activities will heighten public awareness of environmental preservation and authentic stewardship.  In the same way, green initiatives and activities boost camaraderie and collaboration among government employees and stakeholders in the minerals industry. MGB ROXIII takes part in PGMC’s 9th year Anniversary Celebration

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII took part in the 9th year Anniversary Celebration of the Platinum Group Metals Corporation (PGMC) on September 14, 2015 at the Platinum Heights in Brgy. Cagdianao, Claver, Surigao del Norte.  A daylong celebration filled with meaningful and delightful activities was held to mark the company’s 9th year of successful operations and significant contributions to the minerals industry. A tree planting activity took place in the area further down the newly blessed PGMC Chapel before the opening program. The Officer-In-Charge of the Mine Management Division, Engr. Daniel S. Belderol, together with the PGMC President, Atty. Dante R. Bravo, and the PGMC Management, planted agoho (Casuarina equisetifolia)and auri (Acacia auriculiformis) tree seedlings. During the morning program, Atty. Bravo delivered an inspirational message. MGB Region 13 Joins the 2015 Peace Caravan in Caraga Region

MGBEA Caraga Chapter’s Handog Pasasalamat: An offering of praise and thanksgiving

In deep appreciation of recently obtained distinctions, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Employees Association (MGBEA) Caraga Chapter held its thanksgiving dubbed Handog Pasasalamat on September 7, 2015 at the MGB Training Center in Surigao City. The heart of the gathering was the Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Monsignor Terry Iral. In his homily, Monsignor Iral exhorted the MGB ROXIII Management and Staff to actualize their roles as civil servants and stewards of the country’s mineral resources. Headed by the MGBEA Officers, the MGB ROXIII personnel offered praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for all the guidance, protection and blessings that they have received. Apart from having been awarded as one of the most outstanding MGB Regional Offices, MGBEA Caraga Chapter has been awarded the most outstanding MGBEA Chapter in the country for CY 2014. MGB ROXIII takes part in the Workshop for the Updating of the Caraga Regional Risk Profile

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, represented by Ms. Elaine L. Galido, Senior Geologist, and Ms. Liza T. Pacete, Geologist II, took part in the three-day workshop for the updating of the Caraga Regional Risk Profile on September 8 to 10, 2015 at the Executive Function Hall of Goat-2-geder Hotel and Restaurant in Butuan City. The said workshop was conducted by the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC). The Caraga Regional Risk Profile workshop aims to update the Regional Risk Profile which was crafted in 2012 incorporating the MGB’s 1:10,000 scale geohazard maps, NEDA’s vulnerability assessment and other relevant information. This serves as the planning environment of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan (DRRMP) and a guide in the identification of the strategies, programs, projects and activities towards the goal of reducing the impact of hazards (Rationale and Objective, Caraga Risk Profile 2012).
