MGB RXIII takes part in the National Information Convention 2018

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII took part in the National Information Convention 2018 with the theme, Spurring National Development and Empowering Communities through Information, which was held on February 19 to 21, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center of SM City Lanang in Davao City. The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), initiated and organized the three-day event which gathered over 1,000 participants, mostly national and local government information officers including representatives from national and local private media; digital media groups; non-government organizations and civil society organizations; academe and Information, Communication and Technology industries. The Philippine Information Agency, mandated via Executive Order 100 series of 1986 to be the premier development communication arm of Government, recognizes the singular role of information in spurring development and strengthening participatory governance by engaging citizens to become more involved in the democratic process. MGB conducts 2018 Geoscience Workshop

The Mines and Geoscience Bureau conducted the 2018 Geoscience Workshop on February 1 to 7, 2018 at Patio de San Jose Resort and Convention Center in Malilipot, Albay. The workshop was jointly organized by MGB Central Office and MGB Regional Office No. V.  It was attended by key personnel from the Lands Geological Survey Division of MGB Central Office, technical and support staff from MGB RV as the host region, and six geologists from each of the Regional Offices. Geosciences Division Chief Romeo Dalodado; Supervising Geologists Melvin Mantilla and Elaine Galido; Senior Geologists Liza Pacete and Beda Louie Cagampang; and Geologist II Ralph Angelo Plaza represented MGB Regional Office No. XIII in the workshop. MGB conducts Strategic Planning for Marine Geological Survey and Research

The Marine Geological Survey Division (MGSD) of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Central Office conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Strategic Planning for Marine Geological Survey and Research on January 22-26, 2018 at the Bali Village Hotel Resort in Tagaytay City. The said activity was participated by representatives of all Regional Offices. Two geologists from MGB Regional Office No. XIII Geosciences Division took part in the seminar-workshop. The activity started with a program wherein Engr. Glenn Marcelo C. Noble, Chief of Planning, Policy and International Affairs Division of MGB Central Office, delivered his opening remarks followed by the discussion of Philippine Development Plan (PDP), General Appropriations Act (GAA), Program Expenditure Classification (PRExC) and National Expenditure Program (NEP). MGB RXIII and CREDO conduct SDMP Rollout-Consultation and Reorientation

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with the Community Relations, Education and Development Officers Organization (CREDO) Caraga, Inc., conducted the SDMP Rollout-Consultation and Reorientation on December 1-2, 2017 at the Parklane International Hotel in Cebu City. Representatives of Caraga local government units, Community Relations Officers and official representatives of mining companies and processing plants, together with the Social Development Section personnel of MGB RXIII, took part in the activity. The Department of the Interior and Local Government – Caraga Regional Office also participated in the activity. The training was facilitated by Dr. Rolando Cuaño and Ms. Marita Cuaño of BMP Environment and Community Care, Inc. in response to the program of Regional Director Roger A. MGB RXIII and CREDO hold 4th Quarterly Press Conference

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with the Community Relations, Education & Development Officers (CREDO) Caraga, Inc., held the 4th Quarterly Press Conference on December 15, 2017 at the Philippine Gateway Hotel in Surigao City. The press conference aimed to intensify public awareness of the current state of the Caraga minerals industry.  It also aimed to foster the participation of and dialogue between the media and the mining stakeholders in achieving the common goals of responsible mining, ecological sustainability and social development. MGB RXIII and CREDO also hope to forge collaborative ties with the media. Reporters from Surigao del Norte media outfits and various mining stakeholders participated in the press conference. The Philippine Information Agency of Caraga assisted MGB RXIII and CREDO in gathering the media practitioners for the activity. MGB RXIII and Caraga mining firms participate in the 5th National Community Relations Officers’ Conference

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII and Caraga mining firms participated in the 5th National Community Relations Officers’ Conference on November 22, 2017 at the CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Baguio City. The conference was organized by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA) in keeping with the 64th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) on November 21-24, 2017. The Community Relations Officers from different mining companies all over the Philippines attended the said conference with the theme, Consolidating Community Relations Work, Building Sustainable Mining Communities. The conference started with the welcome remarks of Engr. Louie Sarmiento, PMSEA President.  Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, MGB Director, delivered the Keynote Address. Hon. MGB RXIII and Caraga mining firms take part in the 64th ANMSEC Minerals Industry Symposium

            The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII and Caraga mining firms took part in the Minerals Industry Symposium on November 23, 2017 at the CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Baguio City. The symposium was one of the primary activities held during the 64th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) on November 21-24, 2017. The ANMSEC is a yearly gathering of mining firms in the country wherein the best practices in the industry’s social development, environmental protection and enhancement management and safety programs are highlighted and recognized. The theme of the 64th ANMSEC is Responsible Mining… In the Hearts and Minds of Filipinos. MGB conducts Training and Capability Building for Personnel Responsible for Statistical Data and Analysis, Website Maintenance and Information Dissemination

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau conducted the Training and Capability Building for MGB Personnel Responsible for Statistical Data and Analysis, Website Maintenance and Information Dissemination on September 18-22, 2017 at the Eurotel Vivaldi Hotel in Cubao, Metro Manila. On the first day of the training, the registration of participants and standard preliminaries took place. In the afternoon, the MGB Central Office gave an Orientation and Updates on Reportorial Requirements such as the Overview, Directory of Operating Mines/Accredited Dealers, Metallic Forms, Non-metallic Forms, SRS Forms 1-5, Reconciliation Report/Investment Form, Integrated Annual Report for large and small-scale mines (MGB Form 29-16 Metallic/Non-Metallic Minerals & Quarry Resources Mining and MGB Form 29-17 Small Scale Mining Permittee), and Taxes Forms.  The said orientation was given by the Mineral Economics, Information and Publications Division Staff of the MGB Central Office.  Atty. MGB RXIII attends the Philippine Development Plan and the Caraga Regional Development Plan 2017-2022 Regional Launch

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the Philippine Development Plan and the Caraga Regional Development Plan 2017-2022 Regional Launch on August 1, 2017 at the LMX Convention Center in Bancasi, Butuan City. With the theme “Ikaw, Ako, Kitang Tanan: Kalamboan, Atong Paningkamutan,” the Regional Launch was truly a symbolic gathering of people across all sectors. Before the program proper, the Exhibits were formally opened by Usec. Adoracion M. Navarro as assisted by the Local Chief Executives and the Regional Directors. Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada delivered the Welcome Address. NEDA Caraga Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño delivered the Opening Message. She also introduced the keynote speaker.
