The Mines and Geosciences Bureau conducted the Training-Workshop on Mining Statistics and Information Dissemination for Effective Data Compilation, Management and Visualization on October 21 to 25, 2024 at Eurotel North Edsa in Quezon City.
The activity commenced with the Welcome Remarks of DENR Assistant Secretary Michael V. Cabalda, Assistant Secretary for Mining Concerns and concurrent MGB OIC-Director and the Presentation of Objectives and Rationale by Engr. Romualdo D. Aguilos, Chief of Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division of MGB Central Office. It was attended by Economists and Information Officers of the MGB Central Office and the Regional Offices.
The training comprised plenaries, workshops and breakout sessions. Mmes. Emalyn P. Pineda, Virginia M. Bathan and Jomy C. Llaneta of the Philippine Statistics Authority presented the Philippine Statistical Development Program 2023-2029 and Economy-Wide Material Flow Account. Moreover, Atty. Dante Cambri of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas North Luzon Gold Buying Station presented the BSP Gold Buying Program while Ms. Frances E. Leonida of the Bureau of Internal Revenue presented the Key Aspects of Revenue Regulation No. 2-2013 (Transfer Pricing Guidelines).
Information Technology Specialists, Systems Network Administrators, ICT Focal Persons and concerned Administrative Officers (V and III) of Regional Offices also participated in the said activity via virtual mode.
