MGB ROXIII, CMEMCI spearhead 2022 Environment Month Culmination Program

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with the Caraga Mine Environmental Management Council, Inc. (CMEMCI), spearheaded the Culmination Program of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month Celebration of the Caraga minerals industry on June 30, 2022 in Surigao City. The theme of this year’s Environment Month Celebration is Aksyon para sa Natatanging Mundo.  It underscores the promotion of environmental sustainability highlighting the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature by bringing transformative changes towards cleaner and greener lifestyles.  The following mining companies took part in the event: AAM-PHIL Natural Resources and Development Corporation (Parcel 1) ADFIL Corporation Adnama Mining Resources, Inc. DENR Caraga spearheads launching of Regional Solid Waste Management Advocacy Campaign

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII participated in the Regional Solid Waste Management Advocacy Campaign Launch on June 15, 2022 at the Robinsons Place Atrium in Butuan City. The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga Regional Office through its Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG), in partnership with the  Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Caraga Regional Office.   At the program, “Pinas: The Basura Buster (PBB)” and the “Basura Buster” gaming application were introduced to the public. PBB is the DENR’s solid waste management advocacy campaign mascot which will enlist the help of the youth. Similarly, the gaming application is an online tool that will teach the children proper waste segregation in a fun way. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for free. MGB RO XIII launches MGB Kids for the Environment

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII held the Launch of the MGB Kids for the Environment on June 11, 2022 at the MGB Regional Office No. XIII Training Center in Surigao City. Attended by the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of MGB Regional Office No. XIII employees, the said launch started with the Welcome Remarks of Regional Director Larry M. Heradez.  It was then followed by the presentation on The Benefits of Trees given by For. Enjie G. Pacillos-Cañete, Senior Environmental Management Specialist. After the presentation, For. Pacillos-Cañete taught the children how to plant.  The children then planted their own ornamentals in pots which they took home after the activity.  They also signed the Pledge of Commitment in which they committed to plant more trees and tend them with dedication and constancy in support of environmental preservation. MGB ROXIII, PENRO SDN and CENRO Tubod take part in Simultaneous National Tree Planting Activity

In keeping with the Philippine Environment Month Celebration, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Surigao del Norte and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Tubod took part in the Simultaneous National Tree Planting Activity on June 8, 2022 at the Provincial Tree Park in Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City. MGB Caraga Regional Director Larry M. Heradez; For. Joseph E. Langanlangan, Technical Services Division OIC-Chief of PENRO Surigao del Norte; and Mr. Ruel E. Efren, CENR Officer of Tubod spearheaded the said activity. PENRO SDN, MGB ROXIII and CMEMCI kick off 2022 Environment Month Celebration

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Surigao del Norte and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with the Caraga Mine Environmental Management Council, Inc., kicked off the 2022 Environment Month Celebration with a caravan and a short program on June 1 in Surigao City.  At the program, messages were delivered by the PENR Officer of Surigao del Norte, For. Alejandra B. Boiser; the MGB Caraga Regional Director, Engr. Larry M. Heradez, and the CENR Officer of Tubod, Mr. Ruel E. Efren.  Moreover, various partners from the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Ports Authority were awarded with Certificates of Commendation in recognition of their commitment and support to the enforcement of relevant environmental laws as well as the implementation of environmental protection in the Province of Surigao del Norte. MGB ROXIII participates in Training Workshop on the Fundamentals of Environmental Sampling and Field Survey Management

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII participated in the Training Workshop on the Fundamentals of Environmental Sampling and Field Survey Management on May 4 to 6 and 10 to 11, 2022 via Microsoft Teams. Technical personnel from the Geosciences Division and Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division of the MGB Central Office and Regional Offices took part in the five-day virtual training-workshop.  Similarly, technical personnel from the Metallurgical Technology Division of the MGB Central Office also attended the activity which was organized by the Lands Geological Survey Division of the MGB Central Office. MGB ROXIII supports 2022 First Semester P-EAGA Environment Cluster Meeting

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII supported the Philippine-East ASEAN Growth Area (P-EAGA) Environment Cluster Meeting for the First Semester of 2022 on May 18 to 22 at the Almont Inland Resort in Butuan City.  Hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Caraga Regional Office, the said event was attended by Officials and Key Staff from DENR Regional Office Nos. IV-B, IX, X, XI, XII and XIII.  On the first day of the event, DENR Caraga Regional Executive Director, For. Nonito M. Tamayo and DENR Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, For. MGB ROXIII conducts Stakeholders’ Forum

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII conducted the Stakeholders’ Forum on April 20 to 21, 2022 at Hotel Oazis in Butuan City. MGB ROXIII attends first-ever Mining Caravan in Claver

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the first-ever Mining Caravan on April 6, 2022 in the Municipality of Claver, Province of Surigao del Norte. Primarily aimed at showcasing the contributions of the mining companies and mineral processing plant operating in Claver, the caravan marked the start of the mining season.  Officials and Staff of the Local Government Unit of Claver, MGB Regional Office No. XIII, Adnama Mining Resources, Inc. MGB ROXIII takes part in PSSMAI and LGU Placer benchmarking

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII took part in the benchmarking of the Placer Small-scale Mining Association, Inc. (PSSMAI) and the Local Government Unit of Placer on March 30, 2022 at the mine site of Masabong Village Small-Scale Miners Association (MAVISSMA) in Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
