The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII participated in the Regional Solid Waste Management Advocacy Campaign Launch on June 15, 2022 at the Robinsons Place Atrium in Butuan City. The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga Regional Office through its Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG), in partnership with the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Caraga Regional Office. At the program, “Pinas: The Basura Buster (PBB)” and the “Basura Buster” gaming application were introduced to the public. PBB is the DENR’s solid waste management advocacy campaign mascot which will enlist the help of the youth. Similarly, the gaming application is an online tool that will teach the children proper waste segregation in a fun way. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for free. Students, teachers, youth organization leaders, local government unit officials and personnel and other stakeholders also participated in the event.
