The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIlI organized the mine and mill tour of eleven Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) work immersion students from Caraga Regional Science High School on January 16, 2025 at Greenstone Resources Corporation (GRC) in Tubod, Surigao del Norte. The said tour was designed to provide students with a firsthand look at the mine and mill operations of GRC. Moreover, the experience aimed to deepen their understanding of the mining process and help them make informed decisions about which geoscience courses to pursue and the potential career paths they may follow in the future. At GRC, the students received a comprehensive overview of the project, highlighting the company’s achievements in safety and health, environmental management and social development. They also participated in a safety and health orientation on the company’s protocols.
