The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the inauguration and ceremonial turnover of the Family Life and Livelihood Training Center on September 21, 2021 in General Luna, Siargao Islands, Surigao del Norte. The facility underscores the importance of education, spirituality and values. It aims to promote activities such as, but not limited to, the conduct of family development sessions, values formation, youth and child development activities, early childcare and nutrition programs, skills training and livelihood programs and social protection and social services. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga Regional Office, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office No. XIII and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Kitcharao, in partnership with the Caraga minerals industry through the Caraga Mine Environmental Management Council, Inc. (CMEMCI), took part in the Ceremonial Groundbreaking and Contract Signing for the Enhancement of the Caraga Regional Wildlife Rescue Center on September 2, 2021 at Lantawan Ecopark in Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte. The DENR Caraga Regional Office, MGB Regional Office No. XIII, LGU of Kitcharao and Caraga mining companies will be sharing the duties and responsibilities for the conservation and management of wildlife resources through rehabilitation and establishment of additional facilities of Caraga Regional Wildlife Rescue Center which will primarily care for orphaned, injured, or sick wild animals with the ultimate intention of releasing them into their natural habitat. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau spearheaded the Virtual and Offsite Safety and Health, Environmental and Social Development (SHES) and Management Systems Audit of Caraga mining firms on August 2 to 10, 2021 via Microsoft Teams. The SHES Audit Team of the MGB Central Office and the Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division (MSESDD) of MGB Regional Office No. XIII took part in the said audit. The audit started with an entry meeting wherein the MGB Central Office MSESDD technical personnel headed by Engr. Marcial H. Mateo and the MGB Regional Office No. XIII personnel headed by Engr.
